Send your AI assistant here. It can read this site the way you just did, and bring the sources back with it.
Copy the instruction below into an AI assistant that can open web links you give it. It points the assistant at a plain-text guide and a read-only data service built for it, so its answers come from the same numbers, grades and caveats you see on these pages.
Give your agent this
That is all it needs. The assistant reads /llms.txt, then asks the data service at /api for what you asked about.
If your assistant says it can't reach the site
Some assistants only read what their search engine already knows. This site is new, and search indexes take days to weeks to catch up. Until then, those assistants may say they can't find it or can't open it.
Some assistants won't open a link you give them, or won't call a data service. That is the assistant's policy, not a problem with the site. Assistants that open links you paste, such as Claude, read it fine.
You can always bring the data to the assistant. Open a result yourself, for example this calculation for Texas, then copy the whole page and paste it into the chat with your question. The disclosure and the caveats come along with it.
Or ask it something specific
What your agent will bring back
The same numbers as these pages. The pages and the data service read from one source, so an answer from your assistant matches what the calculator shows.
Where each number came from, and how solid it is. Every input carries its source and its grade: validated, plausible, or an assumption you set.
The caveats. What the lifetime cost is and is not, why the effect you assume does the work, and what the calculator leaves out.
Who publishes this and what they own. The disclosure on the About page rides along in every answer the service gives.
A link you can open. Every calculator result includes a link that opens the calculator here with the same settings, so you can check the answer yourself.
For developers
Read-only JSON, free, no key, open to any origin. GET only.
/api: what is available, the dials and their ranges, the disclosure.
/api/states?state=TX: births, preterm rate and count (2023, CDC/NCHS) and Medicaid share of births (2024, KFF).
/api/windows?week=22: the timeline's windows and which are open for a first prenatal visit at that week.
/api/calculate?state=TX&inCare=76&share=55&effect=5&cost=60: the calculator, with its formula, caveats and a link back to the page.
